British Gas 10% discount - Anyone receiving it ?
Comments
-
I've worked out my savings would only be around 2% !!!
British Gas has informed me that Click 6 users would on average save around 5%.
Guess I am below average !
Has anyone worked out their savings yet ?0 -
I'm not sure what 10% discounts you are on about?
If its the 10% cut in gas prices nobody will be recieving that until the 19th (I think thats the date)
If its 10% discount, that only applies to their websaver 1 package which says it will remain 10% below BG's standard rates.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

Yes its the discount from 19th Feb.
I received an e-mail
"We're dropping our Gas prices by 10%*, With wholesale gas prices dropping, we're passing these savings on to you. Sign up today to take advantage of these great offers. When our rates change on the 19th February 2009 we will automatically adjust your direct debit payments, so you won't have to do a thing.
*Based on average annual consumption of 20,500 kWh, is a rounded average across all regions and an average across the Monthly Direct Debit, Pay as You Go Energy and Prompt Quarterly Cash or Cheque methods of payment on our standard tariff prices."
Then 10% advertisements appeared in the newspapers, etc.....
"We're dropping our gas prices, switch to British Gas now! - 10% Price drop"
So I contacted BG, and asked about the Click 6 Discounts.
"As a Click Energy 6 customer you will be saving on average 5%* on your gas."
My calulations for my Area based on 20,500kwH/tear was a discount of 2.8% (actual usage gives me a disount of around 2%).
So the statement "We're dropping our Gas prices by 10%, With wholesale gas prices dropping, we're passing these savings on to you. " is a bit misleading0 -
Click Energy 6 was superseded by Websaver1 (note the ONE in the name, lol) with incredible haste, even by BG standards. If you are on a superseded BG online tariff don't expect to be getting the best deal out there (because you are effectively paying towards BG's marketing budget for its new online tariff). Here's the true tale of how frequently BG release a 'new' online tariff. Shocking, really.

You posted your own thread about this on 05-Feb-2009 and received an answer 09-Feb-2009

Why have you now resurrected this thread from 06-Feb-2009 and asked the same question? Didn't you agree with the response given in your own thread?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
