I'm Electric only and have 2 meter readings one for day one for night. Just done a reading which has come out as:-
Rate 1 - Low - 20741
Rate 2 - Normal - 17483
However looking at my last bill this can't be right as it shows:-
Rate 1 - Low - 15963
Rate 2 - Normal - 18598
The bill before that one is:-
Rate 1 - Low - 14419
Rate 2 - Normal - 16577
Obviously something is not right - but before i go ringing up Eon any logical suggestions please?

Looks like your last bill may be an estimate and latest is a true read?Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Are the bills estimates or actuals? Id dig out or your invoices you have from this supplier check how many estimates and actuals back until the start of the account. Theres a potential here that your supplier may be swapping the reads round incorrectly especially if they are estimating all you invoices. Also as I presume your Low Rate 1 is night and your using more at night it would show in the Est - Act consumption.

Hi
It looks like the readings may have been transposed, they can not go backwards like that (unless estimated as suggested by filmnoir).
Contact E.ON straight away and advise them the readings may be transposed, they may ask you to do a test to show which rate moves at which time.
Take a reading for both rates now if possible and then boil the kettle and use some electricity. Then read the meter again, one rate will have moved on the other staying at the same reading.
Note the display when you take the readings, they may be labelled day and night or R1 and R2 or even Normal and Low.
You will then know which rate is the day rate and which is the night rate. These then need to correspond with your bills. E.ON will be able to act on this information and resolve this for you.“Official Company Representative

Hi again
Meter Readings are definately round the right way. I have a label showing Rate 1 - Low
Rate 2 - normal
Rate 2 is currently moving, I'm on Economy 7 so this is heating up during the night and i use my appliances during peak times mostly.
I have found my opening meter reading from 22 May 2008 last year which is:-
Rate 1 - 12747
Rate 2 - 16318
The meter reader definately came round on 8 December to do a reading, but my bill actually says it was read by me when it wasn't.0 -

Looks like the Rate 2 - Normal - 18598 must have been over estimated on the last bill.
Is it this your concerned with or is it the increase to the Low rate?“Official Company Representative

Is the openning reading an actual or estimate? Do you have your final invoice from your previous supplier?
If the read from EON in Dec shows a C, its most likely an ammended read, possibly as the history shows the reads to be the other way around."Self trained industry expert who has worked in Electricty Distribution, Electricity & Gas Supply and currently works as an independent consultant in industry processes to particapants in the industry" :eek:0
