Npower bills gone up - should I switch?

We have both gas and elec with npower (i only switched to them a few months ago) and were paying £30 a month for each which seemed reasonable as we are really careful. We've just had a statement through and the payments have gone up to £83 a month, each!
I need some advice on what I should do - do I switch to another supplier? Do i change my tarriff with npower? It seems silly because they've changed the payments based on the coldest months so we'll be over-paying going into the summer.
Any advice would be so appreciated!

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch...:D

Paying £720 per annum is obviously not enough for the average user. You need to enter you annual kWh consumption figures into a few comparison sites to find your best deal. Prices are likely to change soon though. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

That's the way it works - you overpay in the summer so that you can underpay in the winter. Your payments have gone through the roof because you've been underpaying since you switched and didn't have a credit balance to start the winter.0
