Bathtek steam room and new boiler question.

Can anyone please give me some advise as were looking to get the lovely steam room/monsoon shower thats in costco and need to replace the central heating system anyway, but we are having problems getting quotes some just havent got back to us and a few that have got back to us are giving us conflicting recomendations as to which boiler to get and i was hoping maybe someone on here might have one and could coment, some are saying worcester bosch 28 should be fine but with that shower i would like more than should be fine and then on the other side weve had 'you will need an expensive boiler with a storage tank and thats going to cost you a fair bit' and that it will be about £2000 more than a standard boiler:eek: which would then knock the dream of this shower out the window as its seems this shower/boiler is too much hassle for them and we would like to weed whos taking the michael or who is just best guessing on what boiler will cope.

All advice very welcome as we are now getting a bit frustrated as we had hoped this would all be done before xmas and is now not likley to be done before easter.

from experience with those cabins there more hassle than there worth and the one you have picked is from the cheaper end of the market

I have recently had to reseal porcelonosa shower cabins...trade price £6500! and within 3 yrs the silicone/rubber seals had perished and had several leaks

where abouts in scotland are you,im based in edinburgh if you require a 2nd opinion

Thanks for your reply i appreciate it, we are over the other side just outside glasgow and find that unless its a 5 mile radius then they are just not interested. The cabinet is a fair price to us if you take into account buying a new cubicle and a half decent shower never mind the extras but i would like to have a boiler that can cope with the shower and normal daytime use of hot water without getting ripped off. Is there any boiler you could recomend that would be good with this shower? As some of the recomendations have been baxi platinum 28 or a worcester bosch 27/30 and then the combi with storage tank but then those that suggested these never got back to us:confused:

I've seen this at costco - and I am currently installing a very similiar product ( slightly larger as the base is actually a 1500mm bath and comes with a whirpool as well ) , at the moment I have it just as a bath - ie without the cabinet sitting on top - so no steam and no shower ( we have a shower in another room anyway) .

Ordered mail order - Quality ( of mine - a different make) does not not great , but if it does the job... I have heard that a lot of tradesman don't like installing these ( guess they get called out if problems - and suppose problems might be in the item- not the fitting!)

I am intending to run off existing combi ... lets live in hope.

    A WB 28 bolier might be £200- £300 more than a " cheapie" and a WB 42 another £400 ontop of that .

I saw that a couple of years ago but had a good search online and you can get a model with much higher spec for much less money!

I can't recall who I bought from at the mo, but opted for an all singing, all dancing model for approx £400! Had everything apart from the pathetically tiny TV that one of the Costco ones has - and I mean, who REALLY watches TV in the SHOWER???!!! :rotfl:

The radio is a useful feature, but TBH, we only ever use the monsoon head and hand held bit anyway. But it does look the dogs!

Firm was something like bathroombits4u or similar. The aftersales were fab too - I encountered a couple of minor probs but they were sorted immediately and replacements sent that day.I think mine was called 'Tahiti' so if you google Tahiti Steam Shower I reckon it may come up. HTH! :)

Excellenct cheers  Ive bookmarked that site and let hubby have a look as i saw a nice shower panel which might be a better choice. Another boiler thrown into things now is an alfa cd condensing boiler with a price of £5000 to supply and fit 9 rads inc. What do you all think price wise please?
