Having spent a fortune on toys that my pupster has destroyed, I have now come up with a number of ways of keeping him otherwise occupied:
Empty plastic bottle. Bit of a noisy one, but he really enjoys trashing it and running around with it.
Treats (usually homemade) in a toilet roll tube. Doesn't take him long now to get in to that.
Empty hot chocolate pot - sometimes with treats in so it rattles.
Tripe sticks or pigs ear strips wrapped in bits of cloth (having lost a lot of weight I have a lot of old clothes floating around!)
Any one else got any ideas?

Beware the deadly donkey, falling slowly from the sky. You can choose the way you live my friend, but not the way you die. (Edward Monkton)

One we use is when he destroys a toy, we pull the rest of the stuffing out and shove a tennis ball in the cavity - keeps him busy getting it out:)
We also play hide and seek with a soft toy - complete with hubby covering the dogs eyes:rotfl:0 -
My dog loves watching the intergrated DVD player on my TV. You can entertain her for at least 5mins at a time just by constanlty pressing the open and close button on the remote control. She will sit there watching the DVD go into the TV and then come out again. You have to stop so the motor does not wear out but its a good way to distract her.
Snow is also a free dog toy.0 -
SNOW! Ours have gone nuts the last 3 days - great fun.
comping since august 2007, wins so far.....none! :rotfl:0 -
We have put some dried pasta in our puppys plastic bottle, it does make a lot of noise but he loves it. Also card board tubes out of toilet rolls and kitchen rolls and any card board boxes like cereal boxes etc.If you want the rainbow you have to go through the rain.
DMP start jan 2012 hopefull finish march 2020

We have the black (extra strong) Kongs for our two (Boxer's - 3 yrs old and 20 months old) - we stuff them with peanut butter, treats, and some of their daily food allowance, top them off with peanut butter or soft cheese and stick them in the freezer overnight.
We've also got a Leo Interactive toy - a bit like a Kong, but even harder to get food out of. My two hooligans haven't managed to destroy it yet!0 -

oh dear - you really should get out more !!!!0 -
I chase my two up and down the stairs making monster sounds, which they love.
They also have a toy box filled with old shoes, old teddies, socks, deflated footballs, empty four pint plastic milk bottles. That way they can choose what they want to play with.0 -
Mine have Kongs, Dog Pyramids, Buster Cubes, Squirrel Dudes and Tug a Jugs OK they aren't MSE, but they keep them busy for ages (I put all their food in there rather than a food bowl). One of them is so ball obsessed he will search for his ball for 20 mins ........ the Springer loves to search for hidden treats on the command 'find it'Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
