Price for drawing plans for an extension?

Ours was £450 2 story extension, all the technical stuff on it, lovely guy i knew we had had to go back 3 meters for the sec floor (as they don't want our houses looking like terraces, if neighbours decide to do the same thing) but as we built a porch we went back from there I had to go back from the original wall, and never charged me... To he did everything, submitted the plans to the council which was £175 and as I knew the building inspector I also got a discount on the inspection charge..
