Powerhouse store closures-disgusting behaviour by head office

This is a vent on behalf of a friend really. He turned up for work on wednesday, arrived to be told a statement by these head office people, given a months wage, and told to leave immediately, and the store closed! Apparently all done ruthlessly, suddenly and swiftly. Even had security guard type guy there incase it all kicked off! Then they had as he described "imigrants" so obviously low paid looking types, to wrap up all the stock and it was taken!
Sounds absolutely disgusting how this company have treated the staff! I dont know if it was dealt the same way in other stores (this store is chester greyhound) but id be absolutely livid! I could imagine it maybe being featured in consumer magazines in the near future?
Any way just thought id share!

I don't think that the "immigrants" comment was necessary (although I appreciate that you were posting someone else's opinions and views), but you may be interested in the following thread as the procedure mentioned by another poster appears the same as the one you mention in your post;

Not good at all..."Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

After 16yrs, just goes to show the lack of staff appreciation. :rolleyes:0 -
Yep, i agree but all these places are the same, they claim to value their staff but they dont, they value their profits which is why alot of people are like me - see them for what they are and treat them accordingly.
