Hi Today I was offered to have new gas and electric prepayment meters fixed which I would then pay the same price for my supplies as someone who paid by DD.. This deal sounds to good to be true, as you get emergency credit as well as friendly credit. I can top up a paypoints or by card if I cant get out.

Anybody else been with them on prepayment before, Good or bad I would like to hear?..

Not used them myself, but from what I've seen these meters are not supported by any other supplier.
It is the same system used in Northern Ireland - you buy a 20 digit code and type it into the keypad on your meter - this gives you electricity. You can buy these codes in various places.
I also think that you sign up for a 12 month contract - not 28 days as most other suppliers.
Making you pay the same as a DD customer may be a good deal - depends what DD customers pay - use a comparison site to double check.

Utilita do have a 12 month contract but do allow you to leave if they put their prices up in that 12 months so its not too bad, they arent that cheap though.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • I have just had an agent from Utilita here and I have signed up to the dual fuel package based on the fact that he said that they were recommended by Martin Lewis and that I would be paying the same price for my gas and electricity as people paying by DD.

Now is this true or not?
