Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Some of the seeds sent out - aconitum napellus, aka monkshood or wolfsbane - are poisonous and so is the resultant plant.
I'm pretty sure that most of us here are aware that many plants are poisonous and should be treated with respect - after all, plenty of us grow potatoes, rhubarb etc. All the same, if you got some of the affected variety you might need to know this. The fact that it was given out as a project to plant with the kids could make you assume it is safe. Just thought I'd post it here too in case you hadn't looked at the freebies thread, as I know a lot of us got this freebie.0 -
Thanks for that. I got helianthemum a few weeks ago and forgot all about them. Searching suggests planting them by June. Does anyone know if it's worth sowing them now? Thanks0
