Online Marketing schemes

I know there are loads of scams out there, and the promise of riches should be a warning, but I cant work out where the problem with ones where they say you can make money with on-line marketing.

Below are two examples of what I mean:

Wheres the scam?
Is it a sort of indirect MLM, where the "product" they sell you, ie, marketing tools and DVDs, are the very same DVDs you are expected to sell on to others?

I consider myself fairly wary of such things, but have always wondered where the snag is with these.
