Do you mean tell the OR about the account? If so then yes, it goes on the forms. When you have your brief call with the OR on the day you petition then you tell them that this is the account you have opened for your BR. Most OR's will say they have no interest in this account and they will notify the bank of this. Lloydds will freeze and close it but Co-op are very BR friendly and say thanks for letting us know and carry on.

In the last year we have only heard of 2 Co-op accounts closed and that wasn't the Co-op that was an over zealous OR, both from the same OR's office, Brighton I think.

And to think these Banks that judge people with BR's are the same
one's that have just taken billions of are tax payers money:mad:

Hi Lost and welcome. I opened my Coop account several months before my BR and it remained open. I totally agree - don't leave any money in the account when you go BR just in case the OR takes it. Better not to have to have that argument with them!

Come back and let us know what the CAB lady says just to make sure she is correct.

I think the letters should be taken more seriously as CAB are sending them out. I sent my own letters out as our CAB was just toooooo busy to do that. Only 2 of my many creditors took any notice. They still phoned and phoned and I had to go through with them the fact that they had received a letter from me blah blah blah. Eventually I stopped answering my phone.

    Hi Lost2

    Welcome .

If you do get into conversation with creditors just say that `its all in hand` & leave it at that...hang up or whatever. I did this with MBNA without going into much detail & I think they have given up calling me now!!

  • You look after yourself Lost, nothing is worth all the debt, and you are dealing with it and will soon be clear of it.

You will be fine. Yes, the co-op is the best, I opened up before br and had some wages going in, as the CAB were concerned that I would not get access to pensions and wages if I continued to have them paid into my LloydsTSB. The OR told the co-op they weren't interested, the account was not frozen, everything was fine with them and has been since.

    Good luckxxx
