Miele washing machine - should I splash out?

I can get one for £530 including delivery fitting and 5 year guarantee. I just need to persuade myself that it's worth spending so much. up until 4 years ago i would have been more than happy with a bosch which Comet have for £300 but after our bosch dishwasher and cylinder vacuum (both which best buys at the time) I won't be purchasing another Bosch. I've read all the threads on here about different makes - but it just seems so much money. this is for the prestige plus 6 model. the main attractions for me was lack of noise and reliability.

My d-i-l recently got a Miele WM with a free 10 year parts and labour guarantee. I think the machine cost around £800 so when you work it out, if anything goes wrong it wont cost her anything else for 10 years, and if it packs up after that it's cost her £80 per year. It is so quiet she forgets its on. She absolutely loves it.
When I have to replace my Hotpoint it will be either an ISE with 10 year guarantee or a Miele if I can get a free 10 year guarantee.0 -
If you can afford it, I would definitely get a Miele. Best machine I've had, 15 years and counting with no problems - that's with at least 15 washes a week, every week.[0

Love my Miele - It's built like a tank. Great brand. The Bosch machine I had previously was dreadful and even the Bosch repair guy said buy Miele if you can!0

I can feel my cheque book coming out!! My current one is a 25 year old Zanussi which sends the OH potty with the noise it makes when it spins and as the programme selector knob has gone I'm having to turn it round manually although when I pull it out it still works but for how long who knows? the offer of the 5 year warranty ends tomorrow so I'll have to make my mind up tonight. thanks for all input0

So did you go for it then. What are your thoughts on it?
EDIT: Oh, and where was the £530 offer?0 -
£530 price from Electrical 123 seems to be upto £559 but £538 still available.

I love my Miele which I got in November last year from the cometauctions site. Mine is a washer dryer as I like to run the drying cycle for 15 minutes to fluff up towels.
It has a 32 minute express wash cycle and as has been mentioned, is really quiet.
I previously had a Bosch - was great and lasted ten years, but it was well worn out and I had heard that the quality of build had gone down a lot over the years, so decided to splash out on the Miele and have been really chuffed to date.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Zanussi which sends the OH potty with the noise it makes
Funny you mention that. I used to have a Zanussi dishwasher that was very noisey (and also suffered some other problems). We replaced it with a Miele dishwasher and have never looked back. The Miele is so quiet and build quality is immediately noticeable - very solid and heavy compared to lesser brands.
Just get it from the supplier who offers the longest guarantee/warranty period, because in the rare event of it going wrong, they can be expensive to repair.
If you can afford it, go for it!0
