I ordered some Euros from Crown Currency Exchange at the end of September. I checked the MSE website using the Travel Money Maximiser, they gave the best quote.
I paid by bank transfer, not credit card, as they charge extra if you use a credit card.
The currency was due to be delivered to me last Friday. When I still hasn't turned up today (Monday 11th October), I went on their website and found out that they have gone into administration on 4 October. How unlucky is that!
Can anyone help me recover the money? How do you file a claim with the administrators - is it just writing to them? Would emailling them do - the page on their website announcing their administration has an email address for getting in touch with their administrators.0 -
My family and I are looking forward to USA trip in December so after reading about the best currency exhange rate on MSE website, I decided to apply with Crown Currency Exchange Limited website. In order to get a much better Dollar exchange rate then present, the company was offering 'pay now and receive better rate if you were willing to wait a few months for your funds' which was quite favourable with me. Two weeks after applying and having paid my money, I found out to my horror from their website that the company had gone into administration. I have had correspondence from the Administrators but unfortunately it is not good news at all. We will probably lose all money (our hard earned savings) we paid out the company. The frustrating part - there is nothing I can do about it except wait 8 weeks for the outcome.:(
I was wondering if any member(s) have had similar experience.0 -

I booked my holiday with Sunsave travel. They booked on my behalf Goldtrail flights and accommodation with Tritian rooms. I have successfully claimed back for the flights however, my credit card will not pay back for the accommodation as they say they have not breached the contract as the rooms were still available. I tried to get flights burt was unsuccessful. What can I do

Hi,
Sorry for late reply. I called the Administrator's helpline phone number from CCE website and they sent the form.0 -
My partner and i have recently paid a deposit for our wedding reception, to find out today that the hotel have gone into administration. Unfortunately the deposit we paid last year was cash and we only have an invoice to support this. I have been advised by a friend to contact the administrator complany, as an unsecured debt what is the advice or likelyhood of a refund?
Thanks in advance

File your claim with administrator as you are an unsecured creditor.
Chances of a refund? - Depends if the Administrators are able to sell the assets or the business as a going conern. Then they have to pay off any secured creditors (banks with security etc) and then your next in line with all the other secured creditors. You may end up with a couple of pence in the pound but Iwouldn't hold my breath on it0 -
I am now in credit on my account with a Santandair Card following a holiday company collapse earlier this year. My problem is that Santandair have credited my card with the amount of £800 plus which I have already paid them for for a holiday that I did not have. I have phoned several times and spoken to managers but to no avail. They will only let me access the money by purchasing goods. What are my rights please? How do I access my credit amount? Janet0
