Wonder what effect this will have on BTL?
Quite a lot where I live...

"The use of migrant labour in Britain will decline abruptly as companies face a sharp fall in demand for their goods and services, the Confederation of British Industry told MPs yesterday. John Cridland, the CBI's deputy director general, told the Commons home affairs committee that the first response of many firms to the downturn was to reduce their dependency on agency staff, many of whom are migrant workers.
He said that there was evidence that many nationals of new EU states were going home as unemployment rose in Britain and suggested that the flow of skilled migrants from outside Europe would also decline."

I agree. We have employed foreign workers before and now we have nothing for them. The problem is I think a lot of them are having the same problems back home.0

more importantly it has impact in allowing people in Britain to have a better opportunity to get a job in the event they are unemployed.
you seem more interested in the BTL instead of peoples jobs... very, very sad...Wonder what effect this will have on BTL?
probably very little but remind me where in the article did it mention BTL or even property!?
what a strange obsession you have Carol0 -
Bring rental prices down further, more people can't afford to maintain their btl, they have to sell, thus increasing the properties on the market and decreasing the prices for them?Wonder what effect this will have on BTL?

All in all, more house price decreases i believe.30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0 -

I didn't need to point out the employment bit because the article did it for me.
That's what the link is for.
Try clicking on it - you might learn something.

You're all missing the point. Less migrants means less choice in food. Less Polish butchers, Chinese restaurants, Korean BBQs, Sushi trains...
Who cares about BTL it's bad food news!0 -

seriously Carol, one day I'm sure you will own a house and be very happy but as for your link; which was clicked on and read as i have already indicated in Post 3 and already asked you "... but remind me where in the article did it mention BTL or even property!?"
it would have more impact on shops and the areas that migrants would spend their disposable income from and have very little impact on BTL. these shops may need to close and people lsoe their jobs as migrant communities would go back home. but what would you care about anyone else as long as you could get your dream of owning your own home.
as for learning anything from you Carol, there probably isn't much - BUT i just hope it's not bitterness because you're definitely full of it.

Nothing like a good bit of personal vitriol in lieu of argument, is there chucky?
Are you having a bad day?
As I said, no need to repeat the article.
I was just adding my own spin on it.
What a surprise - that spin upset a BTL landlord!
Who'd have thought it?

Good - so we'll both welcome the fall in rents and lower house prices too!
Here's one for you too! :beer:0 -
So the bottom line is the migrants are going home..... Good. Maybe next time whoever is in Gov't when extra hands are needed for the jobs our lot didn't want to do then our wasters should be made to do them. At least then the money will stay in the UK instead of pis sing into Eastern Europe as it has done for years now. Goodbye and don't rush back... :hello:I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0
