No, the maximum is 20 weeks after the school year end.

Be careful though to keep up to date with what is happening - parents receive no other benefits for children who choose not to go to college and do not obtain jobs within those 20 weeks. There's quite a few threads where nrp's know the child is out of work/not in college still having to pay because the pwc has informed CB of th child going to college and later 'forgot' to inform them that the child did not go (that is unfortunately one long battle with CB office to prove the CB is not due).
  • Thanks LizzieS - I've got far information from yourself than I ever did with contacting the CSA themselves!!
If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.;)
  • Although I am surprised at the post above, given that FNF are informed of CMEC changes - the formula laid out in the post above I would challenge. This post describes the process for CS1, and there is no such plan to return to that process.

CMEC will work on a percentage base as CS2 now, but will be worked on gross income, and slightly lower percentages. There will be additional rates to be applied for those with a gross income in excess of £800pw.

Are you a politician who can state that the above is categorically true?

Seems strange that this FNF report was just made up with no basis to support it against:confused:
  • I have seen enough workings of politics to know that's not for me :0) But I do chair a national organisation that specialises in Child Support Law, and can tell you that this is not indicative of how the CMEC has been presented to stakeholders. But I do agree that its strange for FNF to put something that is so incorrect, I think it may be prudent for me to contact them and just see where this has come from.

It looks like FNF are unaware of the mistakes on their web-page.

Reading the text (ignoring titles), they have described csa2 then csa1, and at a guess were then going to describe CMEC.
  • I agree Lizzie...I have emailed my contact at FNF and asked them to look into it just in case their site does quote the info as stated above.
  • I agree with the above statement. This is incorrect
CSA 3 will be a gross figure from a P60 and a set percentage much like CSA2 but without the need to look at specific wage dates rather the whole tax year.
    Nothing to see here

It is strange as 12% gross is more than 15% net so i think CMEC are already off to a bad start asking NRP's for MORE.

It gets even worse if they do not discount pensionable salary as in my books that is very unfair.

I suspect CMEC will be an even bigger failure than CSA if the original proposals are true.

Taking away passports and driving licenses i suspect will breach the human rights acts.

I have often thought this myself. Will the removal of passports and driving licences breach human rights legislation?

Has anyone who has had their documents removed pursued this through the courts?

Anyone know of any such cases?
