My TV Guide has gone up from 30p to 33p – Good grief…that’s about a 10% rise or £1.56 per year…..Whaaaaaagh…. boo hoo…. I guess Rip Off Britain is alive and well – hee hee. :p Spent a total of £7.75 in the local shop, just bits and pieces… some tomatoes, baking potatoes (really huge), milk, bread, Cadburys caramel chocolate bar and so on…..

PS – Just put in the oven for tea one of the Giant Baked Potatoes – hooray… :D

£2 on a sandwich for lunch, £3.50 on cinema (student ticket) and £1 on sweets for cinema. So thats £6.50 today.

Not great but was a good day out. Staying with parents so saving on food costs I guess!

Hope you all have good evenings

    Hi Caravanlover,

in WH Smiths there is a special stand with copies of the week's offer book. This week it is 'Empire of the Sun'. Last Monday there was a free book with the Times, and then you can get the offer book for 99p when you buy a copy of The Times.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,

Serena. (who dithered for ages and eventually didn't buy it, so feeling virtuous about saving the money!)

PS I spent £15 on petrol, £1.20 on a paper, about !10 on a CD and a card for DS1 to give to a friend, £3.73 for a book for me(in need of a treat...)

  • Hi
I'm a newbie who's been lurking for a while, but have finally decided to do something about my frittering ways, so by writing them down and having to justify them, I hope to stop wasting so much. (I'm a student in my final year of uni, and with £13000 of debt and no income at all, I really ought to stop this)
So today it's been £2 on some half price kitchen utensils and £1.74 on magazines and sweets from the newsagents, which for me is pretty good going!
