can i switch contents insurance??

Can anyone tell me if i can switch home and contents insurance for a cheaper company before the end of my existing one. I pay monthly direct debit and have a few more months left yet. Will i have a fee to pay the existing company if i swap before? Also which company tends to be the cheapest and best all rounder? "Confused???...you will be!"

    1) Yes
    2) You need to ring your current provider
    3) There is none as it will depend on area and personal circumstances, have a shop around.

    As per ^^^

I agree with 2) and 3) but whether or not you have to pay to cancel would depend on the reason for cancelling.
