B&Q - Oven was supposed to be delivered today, but on the day no oven!

Options
Hi,

Having a little issue with B&Q and i ordered a hob and double oven for delivery today.

The hob turns up (ordered this online) and the double oven which i could not order online so ordered instore.

I asked the delivery guy where is my oven and he said i have no oven but only a hob. So i called the 0800 number they gave me and told me that it was due to be delivered between 8-12 to hold tight.

1pm and still no sign, so called again and they said they might be running late so hold tight a little longer. I asked them to call the delivery guy and find out where it is. They called me back saying that i need to call the store i bought it from and it looks like they cannot fufill the order.

So i then called the store and they said they got a call this morning telling them they cannot get the oven and to inform the customer.

The person i spoke to was very good and understood my anger and not being told this sooner.

I have someone coming this weekend to fit the double oven and hob and atm all i got is a hob.

Ok i understand if the order has sold out but to be told on the day of it being delivered and then no-one knows whats going on. The payment was taken 9 days ago by my CC

What are my options here as atm i'm gonna have to cancel the guy on Saturday.

Any help would be great

Well, for a starter, don't use B&Q again...

Have they said when they can deliver it for you? If it's not before the weekend, can you not get a refund and order from elsewhere?

And there is no point asking B&Q for any compensation for having to cancel the fitter, they wont listen.

Sorry not to be any more help, but TBQH, there isn't a lot else you can do.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
