Argh fleas help!

My boyfriends sprocker spaniel has got fleas, a lot of them, crawling all over her belly.

I know not to bother with stuff from the supermarkets, but is there anywhere cheaper than vets that does frontline (or equivalent) where we can go buy some. I know I can order it online but it needs to be done today (I'm going red from itching!). Also got three cats so vets is going to work out very expensive!

  • if its that bad just go and get frontline from your vets now!!! your house may also be infested - there is a product for clearing this but I dont know what its called - I am sure someone will be along soon who does though!

Problem been that boyf is just looking after his mum's house (they are her pets) whilst shes on holiday, boyf has been made redundant so has no ££, I thought I had read about one of the decent make of drops becoming available in a normal pet store which would have been a bit cheaper, that's all.

Thanks, I knew I had heard something, found pets at home are cheapest round here, nearly the same price for one from vets as it is for a pack of three from pets at home

Just for interest......anyone who is going on holiday to Portugal.....Fronline there is dirt cheap.

It has been known for people to do Frontline runs as they make more money from the Frontline than they do from cigs.

Last time I knew, Central Portugal, and it worked out about £3 a pack......way cheaper than anywhere else.

If you have fleas you need to treat the house as well

INDOREX from Boots - about 12 quid a can

Please dont skip treating the house as the fleas can lay dormant in carpets for ages

Got to say that Frontline did not work at all on my cats and dog. I religously treated them every 6 weeks and yet they still had fleas. The vet confirmed that they had received many complaints about frontline no longer working and so they stopped dispensing it. They prescribed Advantage and within 1 day all fleas were gone and none of the animals have had any since.

Frontline takes 24 hours to kill a flea so that gives them time to lay further eggs before dying, whereas Advantage kills on contact.
  • Anyone know how long these little kritters can lay dorment in carpets, ive treated the house and my pets. Do you think the little devils will still be around??
