Hi i am having problems with my van diesel engine from time to time when engine is started and ticking over i put my foot on accelerator and nothing happens engine is still ticking over.
Has anyone any idea as to what the problem could be, all help would be much appreciated......

Have you made sure the orange light has gone off..

(Glow plug indicator)

Yes i always allow light to go out before starting.......

Hi goldspanners i have been told by Renault Sofia Bulgaria that it is the pump and they want to charge around £700.......:eek:

if thats the case try and find someone who specialises in repairing fuel pumps, they should be able to do it for half the price easily.

or even try an independant garage who may be able to source a pump cheaper than getting it from renault,and labour might be less too.
