Can anyone help?
I have a Prima F 30 boiler
below is what I posted on another forum.
Fan coming on for about 10 seconds but bot firing. It was doing this for about an hour. I got a hair dryer and blew hot air over/near the PCB and the boiler started straight up.
I used the hair dryer as once the boiler is warm its works fine, silly idea i know but it worked.
Been playing up for ages, keeps doing the fan on for 10ish seconds cycle.
Another way to get it to start is to pinch the red pipe that comes from the top of the fan housing. If i blow down the red pipe i can here a click from what I think is the Air Pressure Switch?
Someone said the PCB, is this for sure as I have no money to waste.
Could I change the PCB myself as you do not have to remove the main combustion cover or is it engineer only? I know how to remove the old one (isolate mains 1st).

You could change the PCB but it won't make any difference as this is not the problem.0

So what is the problem?
Thank you.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
Any gas engineer on this forum will know the problem with your boiler, but no responsible person is going to give you advice on messing around with its safety critical systems.
Do yourself a favour and stop faffing around with hair dryers and get a qualified boiler engineer in.0 -
Why can you not say, I can have an idea of the cost and know what to tell an engineer when I call.
I am no fool, I understand the risks with boilers.
I just want to armed with information when I call and engineer so I know I am not being given any crap.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
Is this guy still messing about???? I know this is a moneysaving site but this is just being tight!! Stop asking silly questions and get an engineer in.0

Ok, as of today I am having the exact same problem with my Prima F30 boiler. Fan comes on for 10 secs or so and then cuts off. No ignition, no obvious sign of gas flow. It has been doing it also over the past few days but each time it eventually kicked in and started working as normal, however today it seems to have given up.
Having followed the troubleshoot guide in the manual, it suggests replacing the Potterton 407677 electric control panel.
Can anyone advise me on whether the electronic controller is causing this problem? Will a new control unit fix this problem?
Thanks.0
