ZEST 4 in administration!

Hi,
Here is a comment I just posted on another board. It is dual fuel only so it may not apply to you becasue I think Zest4 only did electricity. But it is such an amazing deal you might want to check it out.
......
I checked out the Scottish Power website and the new product is definitely there.
It is a Dual Fuel only product so you can't get it for electricity only. It is called Dual Fuel Online Energy Saver.
Plus, if you get it via Quidco you get an additional £46 cashback. Unbelievable! That beats the pants off any cashback deal on this website.
However you can only get the £46 cashback if you go direct to ScottishPower via Quidco. You can't get it by using any of the comparison services.
I recently posted a comment on another sub-board saying that you could get £23 by switching to ScottishPower via greasypalm. Forget it! It looks like greasypalm keep half the commission. Go via Quidco and get the lot. Here's the link....

Where do we stand in terms of electricity with Zest4? I can't access my online account anymore, so can't see my last bill (and therefore work out if I'm in credit/debit based on this quarter's usage).
And what happens effective 03/02/06? Are charges now due to the local electricity board? (eg EDF Energy)0 -
I've no idea what happens but I've cancelled my direct debit which was due to be paid on Monday as I'm well in credit.
Just hope I don't lose all of it!0 -
I've posted details of whats happens in another post - we're customers of British Gas as of today.
I cancelled my DD today, but as its due Monday, I think it was actually "processed" on Friday night. Therefore, its gonna go anyway. Ah well, can't win 'em all!!!
I'm just switching using SimplySwitch now - its either British Gas or Atlantic by the looks of it. Wherever I go, its a price rise
edit:- British Gas is the better price, so I'll just wait for whatever paperwork they're gonna send me, and what kind of contract/tariff they supply me with.0 -
I cancelled my DD on Friday night, glad I'm not the only one, I was due to give my reading before 8th Feb but now I can't so what happens now? I was previously in credit.
If anyone has any ideas of which supplier is best for electricity now it would save me trailing through pages of internet suppliers!

Have just done a lot of trawling and it looks like Telecom Plus is my cheapest solution. An increase of £24 a year. Not sure if they are any good to deal with - any feedback? Other than that, the best deal is Powergen (who I left last year) which will cost me another £160 a year . The reason I quit for Zest!!!0

Damn - the Zest4 money came out this morning - as I suspected, it would have been necessary to cancel the DD before 18:00 on Friday night to stop it being taken. Ah well.0

managed to reverse our DD (at a cost) hopefully will be recredited to our account .
Can't believe we're back with British gas ..left them in the first place because of their appalling service and constant price rises0 -
Yes ,like another 25% increase if the press are right.0
-
..phew my debit didn't come out today so it was stopped in time (done online about 5.30pm Saturday afternoon).
Now waiting to see what happens to my credit balance.
Surely if Zest 4 took the money whilst in administration they are breaking some regulations?
