Theres loads of programs imo slysofts software is the best though its not free. Ripit4me used to be the best but its not under development. DVD43 aint too bad either. Best off popping to afterdawn forum.

Slysofts is DEFINITELY not the best

DVD REBUILDER using its inbuilt HC ENCODER, blows clone dvd away for quality. I also cloned and burned a particular film to test which was the best out of CCE, PROCODER, DVD SHRINK, DVD FAB PLATINUM and CLONE DVD and found clone to be the WORST of them all!

I use MacTheRipper to rip just the movie, and then burn it to a disk. There's typically no compression needed.

Course not, its continually updated which can't be said for most of the free versions, its a simple and easy to use interface and it does the job which is encode and shrink if need be. In any respect I was mainly talking about AnyDVD, which is second to none imo.

ANY DVD is just the program you use to stop copyprotection etc causing problems. To RIP a movie you need 'clone dvd' with it
Also, of everything I said only SHRINK is free (Procoder and CCE in particular are AWESOME prices)

Yes AnyDVD removes the encryption like DVD43 however you dont need clonedvd, I've used other programs like nero super shrink to copy the now unprotected content.

Also I wasn't talking about the paid for programs you mentioned obviously. I was speaking in general terms, as the free ones generally get shut down.

Just curious ~ HOW do you use anydvd to rip a dvd to your drive?
It even states on its own website that you need CLONE DVD for it to work

Its bound to say you need its other software to rip it, they want more of your money. Speaking from personal experience I have used nero to copy the disc super to encode into different formats and shrink.

Right well i have been having ago using a few different program. the dvd shrink seems to file a dvd in load of separate folders.

I have just run A123 dvd trying to turn it into an AVI file so the feature is just one file like when i download a film however it has come up as multiple media player files but they are all fuzzy.

can anyone advise?
