Sugar Prices In Tesco

Can somebody tell me why a 2.2kg bag of sugar has suddenly shot up to 93p at Tesco but I can buy it in the ex Hypa value shop for 69p? 0

Perhaps Hypa are just selling cheap sugar as a sweetener to get you in their store?0

Welshlil - I've read that there's been an increase in world sugar prices due to India lifting import duties (general election pending) thus creating a bigger demand, hence prices going up. Even so, Mr. T's are too expensive. See articles in ft.com under commodities.

Seemed that my Heinz Soup shot up from 55p to 85p the other week. Freda resisted the temptations.
last week it was 85p, buy 2, get 1 free.
I would wait and see what price tthe sugar is in a few days0
