First time buyer - Insurance Help Please

Hi.
Me and my partner are currently buying our first home and therefore need a bit of advice as to what insurances to get. Were both 26 and have no medical problems and both of us are employed. We would also recieve 6months full pay and 6 months half pay if we where to become ill. Any advice would be helpful as I am totally confused about the different options available. I am in contact with a broker but I want to make sure we get the best possible prices for the insurances.
Thanks in advance
Alwyn

Because of the types of insurance you are asking for I think you will find no one will advise you on here as there are so many variables and a mistake that could cost you a lot of money could occur.
Your best bet would be to go to an Independante Financial Adviser who will go through your personal circumstances and advise you what they feel is best. Their advice is normally free

P.S Don't use your bank or building society as they are normally the most expensive0 -
I'm with dacouch. Your ifa will be best to advise. They have access to the ones not on the high street. My oh was self employed a few years back and he had cover that paid immediately (although we never used it) It's premiums were higher than others but it was an increasing plan (with increasing premiums each year) but it also had a savings plan at the end (retirement). This was arranged by our IFA. Also because you both get 6mos benefits from work it may be possible to get an insurance that doesn't kick in until this stage thus reducing your premiums. hth
