Weather Compensator for Gas Boiler

We are having a Valliant combi boiler installed. I noticed on Valliant website that they have a weather compensator device. Is this just a gimmick or will it make savings? Also, i would be grateful if someone could explain exactly what it does.

It's not a gimmick. Outside compensators have been standard on commercial systems for years. By matching boiler flow temperature to probable heating demand the water returning to the boiler is lowered in temperature which maximised the efficiency of a condensing boiler.

Good evening: Also available for Viessmann boilers but a very tough sell in the UK market...an excellent guide is available here

Thanks for the link. So will i still need individual thermostatic radiator valves and room thermostat as well as weather compensator?
