Discount treatments with beauty therapist students?

Hi,
I've recently gone back to studying, from working full time, so have had to give up a few luxuries, one of which is the odd visit to a beauty salon.
I've heard that you can get discounted treatments at beauty schools with students, but I've looked online + can't find any info on how to find schools (in London) that offer this.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Can't help with specifics I'm afraid but most colleges which offer beauty courses (NVQ's and things) offer cheap treatments. A further education college/somewhere that does evening classes would be a good place to start your hunt!0

Hi,
try looking in the phone book for educational colleges or ring your local council and ask them for the names of colleges that run beauty courses. When you find a college, give them a ring to see if they do treatments and when and if you book ask for a 2nd or 3rd year student. I've been and although it's not the same as a private salon it's very good value for money. You do loose some of your privacy though and they do have male students, so ask if that bothers you. Good luck.

i am a massage therapist and we to pass our final exam used 'the public' as our patients.... if you have the number of the college and know they offer hair/ beauty/massage etc then generally they will have a booking list obviously excluding holidays and early on in the student term....
also although not free anyone based in london if not already aware the LCTA london college of traditional acupuncture and oriental medicine in finchley have substantially reduced treatments for acupuncture herbs and nutrition
http://www.lcta.com/
also they did a scheme that if you go for a treatment then refer a friend ( who turns up)! i beleive that you can get your next appointment free of charge....not sure if still valid though
as for finding the colleges either look on line or in the yellow pages....'' it'll take time to restore chaos...'' G W Bush0 -
there's a thread in the OS board that might help:
