I need some help plz !

Hi

Actually i just moved in last week of Dec to my new studio flat wid my wife. it was newly refurbished. LL made five flats in one house for rent. The studio is like a big room with fitted kitchen in corner. it was partly furnished but we were happy. the day we moved in the electric heaters werent sufficient. it was damn cold in the room & cooker wasnt working properly.LL send some one to fix but its not fixed till today only 2 hobs r working so we can cook. he gave one more electric heater but believe me both heaters were rubbish. i bought mine.heating problem solved. but from 2 weeks mould has start appearing on walls.on the corners and cupboards. my wife is very worried. we r doing all precaution to prevent condensation. but im sure its damp. My deposit is not secure with TDA i think. LL isnot helpful i dun no wt to do. Can any one help me out:confused: im paying a lot but not for this.

    hi there

    welcome to MSE

Did you get the flat from a letting/ estate agent? Or directly from the landlord ( eg newspaper/ loot/ online?)

this will help us answer your question.

I take it you are the first people to move in - given that its brand new

Newly converted flats often have problems with black mould.

how long have you lived there?

sounds like they painted right over long standing mould without treating it first, if its not damp, then they should be able to treat it with some sprays that you can buy in diy stores

There's a whole loads of landlords who think painting it all white makes it all right.
