Temp cover for an old car after buying new query

Have bought a new car and rang up my insurers (Budget), who transferred my new car onto my policy in place of my current car, a 106, which I'm now looking to sell - they said however that they cannot offer short term/temporary cover for the 106 as it's value is lower than £1500, so is there any way I can get insurance for the 106 for a month or so whilst I look to sell it?

Layman's question here so apologies in advance (!) - there'd be no issue then being insured by two dfiferent companies (one for the usual year, the other temporarily for a month) for two different cars then?

There's no issue whatsoever.

One of the largest day insurers is Norwich Union and they specifically state that if you insure your main vehicle with one company, and take out day insurance to cover yourself or other drivers then in the event of a total loss/accident the day insurance pays out and does not affect the no-claims of the annual policy.
