Prize non-Arrival!

Back at the beginning of Dec. I got an email telling me I had won a copy of Fast Food book, by Anthony Worrell Thompson via Kitchen Goddess site.
The book never arrived, so eventually I emailed to ask when I was likely to receive it. No reply.
Gave it a couple of weeks and emailed again. No reply.
A few days later I went onto the site and left a message on their 'Contact Us' page. No Reply.
I am listed for the world to see in the Previous Winners list.
I am now feeling a bit cross!
Maybe it is lost in the post, maybe they ran out of stock... who knows? All i want is some reply to my communication and some explanation.
Is there anything else I could try, or should I forget it and concentrate on this years' winnings?

  • No! Don't give up. I think I would email them once more listing the dates you have contacted them and that you have received no reply. Also stating if you receive no reply within, say, 48 hours you will forward your complaint to the ISP. I think there might be contact details for them in VelvetGlove's comping guide but otherwise you can look them up on Google. The man you need is Mr Mutton and he's very helpful. If you don't want to do that, I'd be googling to see if I could find any direct contact names for the Editor or someone else for Kitchen Goddess. Do they have a link for marketing and publicity, for example?

    Good luck!

Last year I googled my name & saw I was on their winners list, for a pair of Jamie Oliver tongs, but had never had an email. I emailed & did get a reply & they said they would send me a consolation prize, which they did. it was a Jamie Oliver shaker thingie, which I will not use. I really wanted the tongs, why they couldn't have sent the proper prize I do not know.
I seem to think it took a while to recive, so persevere with them.

Oh how terrible for you. I've never won anything from Kitchen Goddess. I have had to chase prizes up though - not nice - you feel like you're pestering them. I would def. not let this one go!

I know someone who won a prize from Kitchen Goddess (it was a Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food book) and the book just arrived (quickly) but no email in advance.

So it's not the site that's necessarily bad. I'd persist in asking (politely) - if you can get someone on the phone, so much the better!
latest win: LOTR: Moria - thanks to catz
    - I'm moving to Australia in April - will the competitions be any good there?!:rotfl:

  • Thanks to all of you for your support and advice. I have decided I will keep chasing. Will try phoning tomorrow during office hours and see if I get a decent response that way.
Will let you all know if I receive any communication and if I actually get the book I will be cheering so loudly you'll all hear me!!!

I think the problem is that more often than not the prizes are sent by third parties and either communication breaks down or it's assumed by the comp site that everything is in hand. I found that with one of my wins, it was being sent by the publishers and until I contacted the site, they weren't aware that there was a problem.

    Hope you get it sorted.
