So you was already in a mess then and Fasthost just added to it,They are not entirly to blame are they? The people complaining about them are the ones who forgot to cancel.I suggest you see a debt adviser and stop pinning the blame at Fasthosts.
Once again : You have now paid for your server for your websites upfront for the next 12 mts can you not turn this around to your advantage?
What do yopu do for a living? Is there no way for you to make money??
Think and think hard then think again you gotta do what it takes to keep your head above water. Good Luck M8

I am not blaming fasthosts for my dire financial situation - that is of my own doing. However, clearly I could have done without this fasthosts situation and I am not the only one who has been stung by them.

What I intend to do is expose their sneaky way of conning another 12 months out of their customers.

I had a go at being a web designer, failed miserably (hence the dire financial situation) and now work in IT for a telecoms company. I had considered the option of turning this unwanted renewal to my advantage, however as explained above, I don't even have that any more as they have now cancelled it (admittedly at my request!)

And whatever you do do not ask Fasthosts to turn off your server as they will and still not refund you,As i already said use it now.................Oops sorry a bit late with that one!

Indeed. As if to add insult to injury, I'm now in the worst possible situation.

What are the chances of getting them to reinstate it do you reckon? As you might say, "zilchio"

  • No i think they would-I did the same thing with "customer st" and i told them to stop providing me with thier services hoping to get some money back and it backfired, But Fashosts should reinstate your service otherwise they are not proving what you have paid for,And this then gives you a "case".
By the way are you any good at web design? As we a looking for a revamp of our main site or maybe leaving it running but building a new one anyway.
If you send me a personal message maybe we can arrange somthing to both our advantages>

This is a situation you should be able to get yourself out of FIRST and then try to get your money back

    Wise words, duly noted.

Things are starting to come a little more into focus now - thank you for your suggestions; this is all stuff I should have been able to work out on my own as a grown man, but I'm sure we all need a friendly kick up the !!!! now and again to snap out of the fuzzy thinking.

This week has all been a bit of a blur as I'm sure you can imagine. Lots of phonecalls, letters, emails and general panic and worry.

At the end of the day, I screwed up and as a result my already pants situation is now worse - it's not the end of the world but I do truly hate fasthosts' refund and renewal policies though.
