Not sure where to post this - apologies if in wrong forum
It is worth checking out your local Holiday Inn to find out if they have a club that locals can join to give discounts on food and drink. This is not the same as the bonus/priority club for people who regularly stay in Holiday Inns.
I have just joined the 'TN20s club' at my local Holiday Inn - so named becuase it is open to local people living in the TN20-TN29 postal area (Ashford in Kent). I have been sent a key tag to show in the restaurant and bar to receive a 25% discount on food and drink. This also applies to any events or theme nights that they have. I believe that the discount will apply to anyone who eats at the same table.
I can't find anything about this on their websites or Google searches, so can't tell is this is just a local Ashford thing, or whether it applies elsewhere, but if you have a Holiday Inn locally with a good restaurant, it might be worth enquiring.

Holiday Inn, and Good Restaurant, is a perfect oxymoron. Shame really, ours used to be good, probably depends on the staff more than company policy, which seems to be geared exclusively to the lower echelons of the expense account brigade.0

Very expensive terrible food.Love the hotel chain(very good quality and cheap but wouldn't touch the food with a bargepole any more-tried it once)0
