How long to sign credit agreement?

I'm currently over in the USA working for a few months, but will be returning to the UK in just under three week's time.

I tried my hand at stoozing with Virgin earlier in the year and that deal will be running out in April, so I'd like to get the ball rolling with an application for a replacement 0% offer. Would be good if I could submit an application now and have it waiting for my signature when I get home.

However, I'm sure most credit applications only give you a certain amount of time to sign and return the agreement (rightly so of course) so I was just wondering how long this usually is? 14 days springs to mind but maybe I'm thinking of something else... That wouldn't really be long enough for me even with the time for them to send it out, so I'd wait a week or so if it is 14 days, but we're quiet at work at the moment so it would be a good time to use the internet for these purposes now!

Thanks in advance.

Hi there. I think the time limit must vary from bank to bank. I have applied for 3 credit cards in the past 6 months. MBNA and LloydsTSB did not mention any time limit within which to return the form, the Co-operative Bank required it to be returned within 7 days.
