They have been taking companys to court on patent copyright issues and many places have stopped selling Epson compatibles.

    I've heard the same also.

Funny thing is, as of a couple of weeks ago Poundland have started selling compatible cartridges including ones for the R200/R300 series Epsons. When I looked at them they only had black & yellow ones left.

I went in there today & they have started selling refill kits (syringe type) for HP & Canon printers. Individual colours (cyan, magenta, yellow & black) They were bogof as well.

All the above were in Poundland branded boxes so they must have gone to some trouble.
Ye'!, And!!?. How am I supposed to know?
  • Plenty of Epson compatibles out there if you look , full sets of 6 inks for £5 on some sites .

I've got a R300, excellent printer. Cheap compatible inks work great - sets of 7 (one extra black) for £4.99 from UKDVDR.

...is what I bought my R200 for.

I use a HP Duplex printer for all my usual printing, changed over from Epson because of the large number of printers I threw into the skip for blocked printheads.

The price was low enough for me to have a go at this printer simply for its DVD/CD printing capabilities. I was using paper stick-on labels with the HP.

The results are superb! Text, photographs, whatever, the results are far superior than using the labels. As a billy-bonus, I found that the Epson with its flatter paper feeding path could cope with thick card, something that was a non-starter with the "U"-shaped path of the HP. Birthday card anyone?

I now use the Epson as my default printer too since it can be supplied with dirt-cheap cartridges. This keeps the printheads moving too. Mind you, now that you can pick these printers up so cheap, I am not so bothered about the printheads becoming blocked.
