Hello-
I'm due soon for a renewal on my car insurance and the current company, plus all others that i have searched on the net are quoting about £100 MORE than last year!
I dont understand this, as this time i have 1 years no claims bonus which wasnt the case last year....
its an old Volvo Estate, 1990..
2x drivers, same as before- nothing changed - what could be the reason? any tips on getting it cheaper- going for fully comp as before- postcode the same, could it be that the stats on this area have pushed prices up?
thanks for any help!

If all the others are quoting the same, then maybe last year you just managed to get a special deal, one off discount or some other business buying offer.0

Hi
I just has the exact same sitaution. Same car, previously had no claims but had earnt 1 years no lcaims bonus. But renewal price was £150 more than last year.
Rung up and for some reason the wrong renewal price was sent and my insurance had actually come down by £400.
Might be worth rining and finding out and maybe looking on a comparison sight.

Try confused. Really easy now they've changed the site a bit. Any insurance comparison site is your best bet. Then when you find the cheapest, get a direct quote from them over the phone. Your more likely to be able to knock money off over the phone.
Biggest piece of advice, shop around. Don't give up easily. It takes a long time but it can save you hundreds in the long run. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
same thing here. Was with Highway last year after 20+ years driving company cars. New job came with car allowance, so I needed my own insurance(fully comp with business use). Renewal came through, and cover had risen from £350 to £440. Called them up to cancel auto renewal but said if they could match my other quotes I would stay. They could not get it below £410. Nothing has changed except now I have 1 years NCB.
Used confused.com and got exactly the same cover for £280.
Shop around it does not always pay to be loyal.0 -
OK thanks- will give it a go on a few more sites- its gone up to about £540 on renewal!0
