At the Asda where I work they do price matches. but staff cannot get staff dicount on them as well. They have to be paid for searately, they started that about 2 months ago

Regarding the Roses chocolates, 480g boxes, Asda are currently selling these at buy two save £2.06. So yesterday, the checkout operator put the boxes through at Kwiksave pricematch of £1.99 each, then the till deducted £2.06 per pair of boxes, so its equivalent to £1.92 for TWO boxes of Roses.

In reply to Brown Hacker, it is not true that Kwik Save is to disappear next year. Whilst Scotland Kwik Saves are being converted to Somerfield, the brand will still exist in England & Wales.

On a separate point, Asda has run this 'Ad Match' campaign for a number of years now. They have recently been advertising it in-store very heavily.

Whilst I believe there are some t & c's, you generally speaking have no problems getting Asda to price match.

We get Nisa, Iceland, Co-op, Sainsburys and Safeway leaflets though our front door at different times, either on their own or in the local paper. I must remember to take them with me and see if there are any multi-saves to make it worth using them.

Presumably it only works on branded items? What if you have, (for example), an offer for cheap Heritage bacon, (Nisa's own brand)? Can you get Asda's own bacon for the same price?

Don't forget if you see an advert in a newspaper they'll pricematch from that, but if the ad hasn't got an expiry date my Asda want to see the whole page with the date of the newspaper on so you don't take a three year old newspaper in I suppose !!

cheers bubba, i will keep an eye out in the papers then.

We currently spend approx 100/120 a week at asda so im sure there is some money saving to be made somewhere in there.

Asda have also recently introduced something to fight back at Tesco - they now accept any Tesco vouchers.

So if you see any Money off vouchers for a product at Tesco or receive vouchers for you Tesco clubcard - Asda will accept them.

How great is that? I love Asda :):)

Used to like Asda best, but their price promise is a bit shallow, as the only take flyer or newspaper ads as proof and they keep the leaflet.

I recently had a run in with out local store, re Tesco "Two for £10" 1.5Kg tins of Roses/Celebration Offer. They would not accept Tesco  website printout, even though they Knew the offer was correct.

NOR would they accept the Tesco Offer Shelf Display Price Ticket, given to me by Tesco Customer services as "proof". ( there were no flyers available as far as they knew)  So Asda wheedled out of it by quoting their "price match" (HUH!) fine print. I Dont shop there anymore.
