Third party insurer say they will pay for my car - I just need to fax them a copy of the valuation from the garage who assessed my car originally for HSBC...so I rang them this morning and they said they don't have my car and never had.....!!!!!!!!!!!

Rang third party insurer who said they would phone HSBC but they can't get through to them and will maybe make an assessment of the car based on age etc....however, they did say that it has probably been salvaged by now and that HSBC would probably have made some money on it..

I did say I might report it as stolen to the police.....

    Hi All

Am now home after being stuck in Canterbury (where I had been visiting my daughter) because of the weather. Had to go straight to bed to catch up on some sleep - student living doesn't suit me!

Had a really bad day food wise too - after being good over the weekend I have fallen off the wagon today.

Ok I phoned HSBC about full and final settlement as they refused to give me an address to write to. Spoke to dim whit bloke who I explained that a) was on dmp through cccs b)I had lump sum of money which I wanted to offer to one of my creditors c) what figure would they accept

So he says well your balance stands and £2k ish and the only way to pay it off would be to go on reduced payment plan, could i afford that....uh hum did he listen the bit about DMP, or lump sum. So I said no I had lump sum to pay off at which point he said the other option was to go on a manged loan..that way the interest would stop being charged :rotfl:
    So my options as
    a)have managed loan
    b) go on reduced payment plan
    c) pay the full dam balance off

Oh and forgot I asked him at what point would they pass onto DCA...when account was dormant (which he explained was if they felt not enough wa being paid into) or no payment was received on the account..Normally 5 months...oh mine is nearly 2 years.

    Give up they are useless

    ...just a bad day....can I have a pie an' gravy pleeze ?!?!??

....however, putting things into perspective, I haven't lost a car

To be honest I have given up now! We are in the extremely lucky position of having a 'spare' car...as I had just bought a new one and we were going to sell the one that got written off.

I have an official complaint into HSBC and 'losing the car' will just be added to the list of grumbles I have with them...

Sorry Sall I just re read your post - you are paying them and you are paying them a reduced amount, but its too much to stop them charging you interest......?
