ref Scots....after the ( late ) Burns Supper on Saturday, I found out that I DO like Scotch..........but only the expensive stuff. Talisker is my favourite, followed by Speyside and then something that I couldnt remember made in one tiny valley somewhere........its only taken 47 years.

I am not in the PJ's but I can put them back on if it would make you feel better;)

You are right about the snow trauma meltdown of softie UK

I visited my Granda this morning and he was laughing at all the fuss and was recalling a time when the snow was so think for 2 weeks that they had to let milk deliveries use the Mine shafts and transport the milk along the drifts underground to get to the various villages. Thing is though in those days people all worked, shopped and produced goods locally so things didnt grind to a halt at the first flurry of snow.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Mmm - Fridge soup even better on day 2

No Pepe I haven't popped yet

As for the snow - if Switzerland 'closed' for a few inches of snow life would halt from mid Oct to early March!!! Perhaps they should have a visit to countries that get real snow to learn best practices???

    Why am I so tired?

I could quite happily put my head down on my deask and go back to sleep...

  • Well,
coming from a country that gets snawfall for 6 of the 12 months of the year, it is kind of embarrassing the fuss made-however, as I'm sure our darling lenny would point out, this country just doesn't seem to have the infastructure built in to deal with a wee bit of snow.

I, for one, cannot drive my little tiny car in a straight line in the snow here because I slip all over the shop. Back home in the Great White North, I would have had snow tyres. (and spelt that 'Tires' lol)

I did think that was really funny, surely one of the advantages of having an underground rail system is that it is mostly ermmmm UNDER GROUND! Unless there were 3 flakes on the outside bits, then I fully understand:rolleyes:
