take over of management company sort of
blueye
i currently live in a manor house which has been converted into apartments,
before i moved here the owners were not happy with the old management company as they were letting the building go to ruin amongst other things, anyway the residents decided to take over the management of the building and two people elected themselves to be director and secretery, now the same thing is happening leeks everywhere staircase hanging off the wall and nothing is being done, the only thing that is happening is talk!! nobody knows what their monthly fee is being spent on and no propper accounts are being shown to anyone, il give you an example of one of the things we pay our fee for:
two cleaners to come once a fornight to spend one hour cleaning, this is aparently costing us £240 a month thats £60 an hour per cleaner, this cant be right?
there has been talk between residents that the two residents who are dealing with the managment of the building are creaming money off for themselves, all we want is to see the accounts or some reciepts for what we are spending our money on but they wont let us see anything.
how would we go about getting rid of these guys, and what would a realistic cost be of apointing a pro management company be
also one of the guys has drawn plans together to sell off part of our land to the council to build on without even informing anybody, (the management company, we the residents own the freehold)
thanks for reading my long post

Is this registered at the Land Registry as a commonhold? If so, there should be a commonhold association with a Memorandum & Articles.0
-
i hve no idea how would we find this out0

If the management company is a Ltd Company you can get downloads from Companies House for £1 of the information that has been filed.
Also do so some research on calling an Extraordinary Geneneral Meeting and sacking the current directors.0 -
i have been onto companies house and have downloaded the accounts for 31/07/07 but they are registered as dorment so no info of any use
have also found they have given themselves ordinary shares in the company, what does this mean0 -
i dont think it is registered as common hold as we still have a lease on the property0
