Although Easyjet look financially sound at the moment it could cost you dear if they ever go bust!
Credit card transactions are covered by Consumer Credit act debit card transactions are not.0 -
TRAVELMAN wrote:Hazelize-if holiday is already booked with them you will have to pay it if it is under their terms & conditions. Nothing you can do short of cancelling your Holiday. As you've ALREADY booked then, sorry, tough-they are within their rights to charge it. Travel Agents ARE charged 1.95% by card companies-entirely up to them if they wish to apply the charge or offer a discount!

All retailers are charged a fee by credit card companies!
Tesco for example don't charge you extra for the privelege of shopping there so why should travel agents especially as some have a deposit from you for many months earning THEM interest!0 -
You could apply for the thomas cook credit card to avoid the surcharge. Plus you get £1.50 to every £100 you spend back in thomas cook points.0

It so annoys me when the say that. If its only £X amount they won't mind not charging it you then!! :rolleyes:0 -
You could join www.freefivers.co.uk They give 2% cashback on Thomas Cook bookings, thus cancelling out your CC charge + you get a "Free fiver" for signing up0

Another option would be to pay using an Egg Money card - you get 1% cashback - so it halves the pain of paying a surcharge for a credit card.0
