Thanks for tha thumbs up on the car parks for Belfast, Now how about some ideas on where to eat lunchtime? With a bar? 3 ladies - veggie option would be a nice touch as well and independent rather then chain preferred

  • I like The Apartment over on Donegal Square - good veggie food and nice views if you can get near a window. I'd recommend upstairs in it personally. Not too expensive either - two people can eat and have a glass of wine for about 20 quid. I also like the Cloth Ear (beside Merchant Hotel) albeit it isn't quite so good veggie wise but they usually have at least one choice. Another place I ate lately and kind of liked was called Muriels - it's pretty close to the victoria centre too http://www.nifoodreview.com/muriels-review.htm and had a good veggie range. It's a bit dark and olde worldy pub for my aesthetic taste (the other two are modern) but I did think the food was very good.

    Enjoy your lunching :)

Edited to say, I just realised all these are bars but really I wouldn't be a big fan of city centre restaurants, or at least I can't think of any right now. Deanes Deli on Bedford Street would be the only one and their veggie options have gone right down lately. And it's more expensive and further away...
  • The Morning Star in Pottingers Entry off Ann Street does really nice food.

Zen in Adelaide Street - best cocktails in Belfast and the lunch menu is fairly reasonably priced.

Aldens in the City (Callendar Street, opposite back door of M&S). More casual than Aldens in Ballyhackamore but food is every bit as good (especially the desserts)

Avoca restaurant (upstairs in the shop - Arthur Street). Very handy to Victoria Square and really delicious food.

I like Caf! Vaudeville in Arthur Street for lunch
  • Avoca is great actually. Although pretty expensive but the food is always lovely.

I was disappointed in Aldens in the city the one time I ate in it - I had fishcakes and they were soggy and grey (yuck). But I do know the other aldens is very good so might be worth a try.
  • I went to Molly's Yard for lunch recently and it was great - also very good value (around £6 per dish I think).....sat in the bar. HTH!

Not rushed at all.......last time I ate there we waited 1hr 10mins for the food to be served. It was nice when it came though.
