We ended up in Pottingers

But many many thanks for all the suggestions. I hate not knowing Belfast and trying to decide where to eat is always a nightmare and we (hubby and me) often just grab a Mc D - (orrible) But know I have a list of places to look at for the future and hopefully wont be getting so ratty on days out cos of hunger pains

katy dalys has wonderful food as do laverys. both very reasonable priced.
mccrackens(owned by basement and queens cafe bar) in joys entry
morning star in pottingers entry
am:pm on botannic or beside thompsons.
the garrick bar on Chichester Street
there ya go 6 independantly run pub/restaurants in belshaft
Depends on your defination of Independantly run.. OK we're not talking McDonalds or Burger King size Chains but.
Katy Daly's - CDC Leisure as in Aunti Annies, LimeLight, Spring & Airbrake
Lavery's also run The Pavilion Bar (Will let you away with that one!!)
As you said McCrackens(owned by basement and queens cafe bar) as you say
AMPM – 2 Premises - (Will let you away with that one!!)
Garrick - This is about the only one i would class as independant..
My own take on Independant would be owner operated.. Not some company owned establishment managed on the Owners behalf.. My take on it anyway.. bit like the Old English Freehouse or Country Pub..0 -

And CDC leisure are a locally owned firm if you want to think of it that way.

The place is packed at lunch time everyday without fail must say something about the food
