Before you do - can I ask why the LM won't address the situation on her own? Does he intimidate her as well?

it sound like you line manager is either weak or this guy has clout.
the bosses could look at it as you are the awkward one.
I am a manager, been one for 18 yrs, an older guy joined 13 yrs after me and told stories about me that were not true, the bosses believed every word he said but no one ever approached him, of course he was telling lies, this last for a few years, in the end I had a department took off me and he had it, he was finally dismissed for sexual harrasment. I still work for the company, i detest it, but it suits me, wages and location wise.
  • Zazen that I am not sure about....our team had a discussion and one member does not want to do it, as she has been the disciplinary route before (although this was an informal round the table discussion), and doesnt feel its worth it. I said I would do it, but not happily, but I think we need to be united, no point if not.

So we have suggested to the LM that we are happy to leave provided she has spoken to him on our behalf but if we have any more problems with him we would take it further....bit of a cop out really

We also said we would document the events, but she has said not to get bogged down with documenting it!!!! one has to wonder why??

It sounds as if boydE has it down to a tee; he probably has clout and your boss can't handle him.

I can't believe she wouldn't get you to document things.

I don't want to ask to much more for ID purposes, but I'd definitely be documenting everything from now on - even if it is in a diary at home.
  • Yes, we will be documenting everything....in future and the dates we know...

the clout that he has, is the fact that he is like a rotweiller, does the jobs management dont want to do

We had one like that and I had to take a stand [he behaved very very badly at the office summer conference which included all staff] and he backed down...turned out he was fiddling expenses and when I told my guv he needed to dig even deeper, he called the referee and the guy started to laugh down the phone that someone had employed him. As he was in probation he went shortly afterwards.

I feel for you, I really do.
