Where to go for laminate flooring?

Anyone got any recommendations for good quality laminate flooring that is a reasonable price? It seems that you can get stuff that looks like real wood now so would be interested in that

I bought quickstep flooring from http://www.ukflooringdirect.co.uk/

Their prices are fab in comparison to all the other places i price compared with - my joiner said it was warehouse prices and he couldn't get me it any cheaper.

If you don't have a particular laminate in mind, they can send out samples. However, i think it's best to go round the shops, see bigger samples and then type the details into google and price compare (make sure you take delivery costs into account).

I have quickstep perspective 4 vintage oak and it looks great. In my previous property I had real wood and after only a a year the areas exposed to sun had faded and after a party the floor was badly marked by high heels.

You can't go wrong with Quick-Step, Balterio, Berry Wood.

Beware of 'budget' laminate floors. These are often difficult to fit, and of substandard quality!! you will have no end of problems, and the floor will be shot in no time!
