Integrated washingmachine

I am possibly moving into a flat where there is a space for an integrated washing machine.
I have searched the web and they are all £150-£200 more expensive than standard machines!
It is going to be my first flat so not clued up on this so need some advise!
Firstly, would a normal washing machine fit in the space or are they smaller in w/h/d?
And secondly can anyone recommend where to purchase one less than £300?
Also if I moved out to a different flat say in a years time, can it be used in a standard space for non integrated washing machines?
Thanx

Unless you absolutely have to have an integrated washer / dryer I would steer clear of them. We have had one in the past and my Daughter bought one last year as we thought they may have improved errrrrrr they haven't. The washing machine will work fine but the dryer will be useless.
If you can, try to find a space for a dryer elsewhere (I realise that may be difficult in a flat)
They are the same size as a washing machine by the way.
Hope this helpsMy friend drowned in a bowl of muesli.

Ooops Im sorry I think I may have written the wrong thing!;)
I mean a washing machine that fits behind a cupboard door in a fitted kitchen?
I think my mum had a combined washer/drier and it was a nightmare to use so think ill stay clear of that one!
Thanks for the advise tho:T

Hi kim_35
Integrated W/M's are a lot more expensive than freestanding, so if you are on a budget, I would advise getting a freestanding one. The best thing is when you do move, you can take it with you!
You are much better off buying a decent brand for your £300 such as:

And it should keep you going for ages...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Are freestanding machines and integrated machines the same size? Im just worried that it wont fit?0 -
Yup, they are all the same size, designed to fit into a 600mm wide by 870mm high space. The only difference is the depth; integrated appliances are less deep to allow a door to be put on to it and fit flush with the kitchen units.
I sell kitchen and appliances for a living (but I doubt you'll be up in Scotland to buy one from me lol) so go out and buy with confidence and if you have any more queries, give me a shout :-)If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
