Hi,
Just found out I will need to go digital to keep watching channel 5 after March. I don't want to buy a new TV as my current one works perfectly well and hope to move house later in the year/next year so will replace/upgrade then. Therefore I want a set top box that I can plug into my tv so I can still watch channel 5 until then. Oh and cheap and available and good. Everything I can find that's rated good costs over £150 or isn't available.
Help!
ETA - I don't have sky/satellite/cable tv or want it either!

Personally I'd just get a cheapie. However if I was you I'd get one with a hard disc built in so you can record to it and pause and rewind live TV etc. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I agree with both previous posters. The pvr's come with built in freeview and it is so easy to record and replay programmes. I couldn't see any real advantage to having one for years but having bought one for the living room I now have one in my bedroom as well. They really improve the viewing experience.
If you are sticking with a STB this Sony at £69 gets excellent reviews.

Personally I would go for a pvr or a cheap STB. I always found that the Asda STB's worked well and were cheap enough to replace if there was a problem.
When you upgrade your tv you will probably go for one with freeview incorporated or you may go for a satellite option.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
I'd recommend a refurbished 9200T from the Humax web site.0
