HSBC call centre

I wanted to call my local branch to set up an appointment.
The telephone number takes me to an Indian sounding chap who is very polite and puts me through to the wrong town.
Do it again and this tine my branch is not picking uo their phone.
Do it again and we are in a different but wrong town again.
Attempt four and I get through. I am told that I can not have the local branch number because the phones are not manned and India should send them an Email when they can not get through.
This is crazy.

The joys of having call centres abroad! I think its ridiculous when you cant speak to someone in this country about your needs. When the call centre is abroad you often cant make them hear what you are trying to say and give up in the end.

When I ring Wanadoo about our internet access that call centre is in India and when you say you cant find something they say well where did you leave it!!

The fact is these branches have phone numbers - their staff will be able to get through without going through to India so why not customers!

  • Hi

Sorry to hear about your problems - I use to work for them (left recentish - couldn't stand it!), and it is general policy to try the branchs internal number 6 times. Afterwards we are advised to ask the customer if we could get the branch to call them back.
  • It is wierd isnt it. I dunno.

    I just write a letter.

    It works everytime.

Tell them that you have had to write a letter because you couldnt get through on the phone, so you wont be paying any charges in the delay in post etc.

If they kick off then just phone up the managing director or chairman - or write to him.
