As just posted elsewhere, I've just been told that since I didn't switch my salary I didn't qualify! I saud that wasn't a condition when I applied and the lady said she was told it ALWAYS was a condition! This isn't true is it?? Please can someone supply me the conditions for the £50 as of December?!

    Hi adm,
at worst use my argument that you spoke to someone about salary transfer & was told it would be OK if you paid in a regular amount of £1k as :-
1/ You are self employed or
2/ your employer pays you by cheque !!!!!

Go into your local branch & enthusiastically ask for their account opening officer & lay the law down to her with the emphasis on you think the system stinks & you have been seriously misinformed

    Best of luck!!!!!
  • LLoyds TSB Account - Does anyone want to be my recommender?

I am planning to open the LLoyds TSB best current account and was wondering if anyone who already has an account with them wants to be my recommender so we can both get the £40 bonus. I am not sure what details I will need to give but I presume it will be just the name. If you are interested please e-mail me on <E-mail Address Removed by Board Guide> so that I can open the account asap.

    Hope this helps someone!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'll recommend you. I'll send you an email.
If you check the Lloydstsb site you do have to fit certain criteria to get the £40.
  • It has to be a proper current account (under 19 acceptable if sufficent funds credited within 3 months) and has to be a minimum of £500 pm or a total of £1500 or more in more than one transaction in the first 3 months of opening an account.
If you do not get through the credit scoring and are only offered the basic or cash account no £40 is payable.

    Are you sure about £1500?

... set up a regular credit of £500 or more per month within 2 months of opening the account

I applied for this account and got a letter saying "we're thinking about giving it to you, we'll send you a letter soon" and then a letter saying "Sorry, we don't want to give you an account"

I only wanted it for the £50... never mind, back to the matched betting!
    Shuffle up and deal!

I see what you mean. My daughter was told by staff that she would get the incentive if she paid in £1500 during the first 3 months, which is different to what they say on the site (regular credit of £500 or more). I suppose a standing order from one account into another would satisfy this criteria, rather than get her salary changed to a different bank.

Unfortunately, Lloyds TSB make this more complicated - all the thread is exactly about this problem.
