Thank you!
I have a letter from Halifax saying that they provide the cover for my credit card so was going to send one to them and one to Aqua....hopefully one of them will respond)

Hello,
Wondered if you could give me some advice.....
I wrote to LTSB around 10 weeks ago to reclaim the PPI mis-sold on my personal loan in June 2008.
I first received their standard response that they would investigate and reply within 8 weeks.
I then received another letter 4 weeks later to say they were still investigating and would write to me again within 4 weeks.
The last letter i received was a week ago, apologising but they had not been able to resolve this within the 8 weeks, and enclosing the FOS leaflet if i wanted to contact them. They did say that they would continue to investigate and reply to me within a week or two though.
Now I'm wondering if i should go to the FOS, enclosing the letters from LTSB of course, or whether i should wait a while and see if LTSB come back to me with a response to my claim?
Any advice appreciated0 -
Sometimes these companies do this to stall but sometimes they have been known to come back with an offer etc which is quicker than the wait at the FOS (currently about 18 months!!) so its really up to you. No-one can tell you on this one as its hard to advise. Good luck in which ever you choose.0

Hi there
I agree with Marshallka here, but I have experience with Lloyds and it was the same for us as well, but there is no harm in sending off a complaints form to the FOS anyway and if they did resolve in your favour, then you let the FOS know so they can cancel and return your documents, but if Lloyds did not uphold then you have already made a start at least with the FOS.
If you decide to go to the FOS now remember to enclose copies of correspondence, you can download and print a form from the FOS site, or ring them to arrange to send on through the post, more details here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
You may have heard in the media that LLoyds do not uphold very often, but hopefully they will in your case, and maybe due to this news they may improve, fingers crossed anyway.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I also did this with LLoyds of London (different Lloyds i know) when they asked for another 4 weeks to look into it and I sent it straight to FOS and then when I called them a couple of weeks later (lloyds of london that is) to ask if they were any closer they told me that they would not communicate as FOS had requested the files. It swings in roundabouts but just to be aware that this can happen and then FOS can be 18 months away.0

Hi all.
I have received a letter from HBOS saying that they will put me in a position of never having taken out PPI re an old loan. Does anyone know how they calculate the interest on that?
Thanks!0 -

Hi there
Marshallka is cool at explaining these matters, but just to give you an idea, if you've not come across this thread yet check the thread that was posted by Maxdp, on how the FOS calculates refunds here:

Anyway well done to you, Congratulations.
