Hi Paul and welcome.;)
I would check for more information on this matter and if any of this occurs to you then there is no harm in trying to reclaim.
Please do check this link below for more info, a mis selling checklist and template letters, and do ask for further help if required.

Hello Everyone, please can you help.
I took out a loan in September 2003 with natwest for the amount of £2500. The PPI included in this was for £422.50. I paid the loan off in January 2004 and they have offered me a refund of £154.97 becasue this is the amount I actually paid and not the sum automatically applied to account when I paid it off. Do I accept this amount or ask for the full amount?0 -

Hi there
If that were me personally I would ask them to repay the whole lot and any interest as well.
If they do not do this you can alwaya go to the FOS.;)
Write to them and ask if they can refund you the whole lot, ask them to send you a full written breakdown of the calculations as well, because you are entitled to have these.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
My Brother took a loan out with Lloyds tsb on August 2004 which he is still paying today. He was sold a PPI policy with the loan as they said they couldn't give him it otherwise.
Now he has actually claimed it a couple of times since so am I correct in saying he can't go down the route of saying he was mis sold it? I would have thought he could as he was mis sold it at the time as he was told he couldn't get the loan unless he took it.
If he can't reclaim the PPI can he cancel it I know that when he took it out they said he had 30 days to cancel it, but he never did.
Can anyone please help
Thanks

Hi Not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes
A friend of ours - he is computer phobic, has just informed me that he has used a company to reclaim his PPI from Halifax, Halifax have offered £720, but will only take it off what he owes them, meanwhile the company he used want £220 in charges. Is there any way he can get Halifax to give him cash rather than take the money off his bill?0 -
Well I haven't asked them for the full amount, instead I called the FOS today. I can always halt proceedings with FOS or should I just go ahead with FOS?Hi there

Hi Graeme.
The only thing here is that they may argue that he was not mis sold as he had made a successful claim, but I do see your point.
However, I am sure he can still cancel this but they may suggest that he must take out a new loan to pay off the existing loan, and this new loan would be without the PPI.
Not too sure what to suggest on the other matter though, as they did basically say he will only have the loan if he taken out the PPI, maybe someone else will have some idea on this one.;)

Hi there he should write to them (Halifax) to ask this.
As he used a claims company I am not sure how this works out.
Hopefully someone will know more on these matters and post up, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Chris, this is up to you from here.;)
Did you sort this out on the phone with the FOS?
Or are they sending you out a form to complete?
It does not really matter, but although sometimes the bank will higher the amount if you request this, you cannot guarantee it though, but although even when people have already complained to the FOS, they do sometimes receive some news of a changed decision from the bank, if this is the case and it did go in your favour then let the FOS know, but other than that keep it going with the FOS.
Hope this helps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
